It is possible to rehabilitate the immense pazo while the other house is used as housing: is furnished and ready to occupy

The first is the old stone pazo built in the fifteenth century, today with rehabilitation needs, which has a useful area of approximately 600 m2, distributed over 3 floors. It has a beautiful stone balcony and has a fountain very close to the building. And a typical granary (horreo in Galego).

Next to the pazo are the old stables. Today they are transformeded into a splendid stone house of about 240 m2 distributed over 2 floors, ready to be occupied. It has 4 bedrooms, three of which have an en-suite bathroom, with an additional toilet on the ground floor. There are two large rooms, one of them with dining room, and a huge kitchen with room to eat spaciously. This U-shaped house surrounds a patio / garden. To give us an idea of the splendor of this property in the past, just a detail: there was (and still partially preserved) a granite gutter where the water reached the pazo from a spring located 200 meters away. The water tubing in the kitchen is in ceramics. It has large centenary trees on the plot and even a stone dovecot.

A perfect enclave to live or operate a business

Irixoa is a municipality of great extension; but it does not have any nucleus of important population: it is distributed in a very disseminated form by different villages and places. Within its tree mass, pine is abundant in its various species, but mixed forests are also conserved in which oaks and chestnuts are more frequent.

The main tourist attraction of the municipality is the one that derives from its landscape and its exuberant nature. Hunting and fishing sports find in the Irixoa area one of the few paradises that are still preserved in our land. It is very close to the Mandeo River, Betanzos and only 30 minutes from the international airport of A Coruña.

Irixoa, riding between two worlds: forest and coast

The municipality of Irixoa is located in a transition zone between the Lugo’s plateau and the coastal regions of As Mariñas and Ferrolterra. Two communication channels of relative importance cross the municipality. From west to east they cross the regional road 640 from Betanzos to Viveiro, and the local 153, from Montesalgueiro to Pontedeume. Both converge at the place known as Pazo de Irixoa, where the municipal capital is located.
